This lovely spacious, self catering, log cabin for two adults is beautifully furnished with antique Persian rugs, a top quality double bed with luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding, big soft fluffy towels, an extra deep double ended roll top bath, an oil fired Aga and a cosy wood burning stove.
You’ll find everything you need here to make your stay perfect.
Ash Mill Cabin has it’s own enclosed garden with a gate leading directly into unspoilt woodland.
One side of the cabin looks out over the owner’s organic potager, where rare breed Dark Brahma chickens and ducks wander and Blossom & Fern, the character Golden Guernsey goats play.
The other side looks down over the tumbling stream, towards a steep oak wooded escarpment. Watch otters, red and roe deer, badgers, foxes and many other woodland creatures from your windows. For bird watchers, there are kingfishers, dippers, grey wagtails, long tailed tits, nuthatches, sparrow hawks, tree creepers, greater spotted woodpeckers and jays to name but a few. In the early evenings bats patrol the skies and the tawny and little owls strike up a veritable orchestra of hooting and tooting.
Bring your fishing rod and catch brown trout in the brook, discover the now rare and sadly endangered water voles, watch the iridescent ballerina demoiselles fluttering along the banks or venture off on the miles of footpaths straight out of the door. Wander at leisure around the owners 40 acre's of wild woodland habitat, picnic in the meadows full of butterflies, surrounded by wild flowers - there’s one very special meadow full of Marsh Orchids and Ragged Robin, another full of honey and vanilla scented Meadow Sweet, other’s with Wild Angelica, Campion, Devil’s Bit Scabious, Giant Knapweed and Agrimony. The banks of the brook are carpeted in Snowdrops, Wild Narcissus, Wood Anemones and Bluebells.
Ash Mill Cabin has something wonderful to offer with every season.
A welcome Devon cream tea with home made scones, milk and bottle of bubbly in the fridge, will await you and during the colder months - a roaring log fire.
Please note that although the access to Ash Mill Cabin is along a woodland track, four wheel drive vehicles are not necessary, but it is rough, so please drive with care.
Ash Mill Cabin is dog friendly and well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement with the owner. No dogs in the bedroom please and do bring your own dog beds.
Ash Mill Cabin is not suitable for children.
